New Cloud Type


Scientists from the Royal meterological Society (RMS) discovered a unique type of cloud. The cloud is then claimed to be a new cloud variations identified in this century.

RMS is now working to further investigate cloud Asperatus named this. They were seeking the order Asperatus be formally entered into the list of international terms that can be used in the identification of the cloud. If successful, this is the first variation of cloud classified since 1953, according to a statement quoted by the BBC, Wednesday (03/06/2009).

This new type of cloud shaped dark clouds swirling in the sky and is often found in various locations around the world.

"When viewed from below, this little cloud looks like a small wave ripples were disjointed," said Gavin Pretor-Pinney, founder of the Cloud Appreciation Society, and inventor Asperatus.

"We try to identify and classify each photograph clouds we found. When looking Asperatus, we see no specific characteristics that we have never before found in the category cloud. Therefore, at that point I began to think that it is likely this is a new kind of cloud, "said Gavin.

Gavin explains further, Asperatus named because the surface looks rough and choppy Asperatus. Asperatus comes from the Latin which means rough.

"Asperatus appear visible in the collection of a huge wind storm. However, some reports suggest that the cloud is likely to split without a storm first formed, "said Gavin.
